TEHRAN -- Vice President for Executive Affairs Ali Saeedlu said here on Saturday that the most important outcome of the president’s provincial trips is that they dynamize the implementation of the government’s plans for each province.

“Due to the provincial trips, officials have realized that they shoulder a heavy responsibility and that they must redouble and accelerate their efforts to work for the people,” Saeedlu told the Mehr News Agency.

Saeedlu, who is in charge of organizing the provincial trips, stated that the trips do not inflict any extra cost on the administration of President Mahmud Ahmadinejad because they are conducted without any formalities or extravagance.

Most of the approved plans have been implemented in some provinces, like South Khorasan, where 98 percent have been implemented, and Sistan-Baluchestan, where 85 percent have been completed, he pointed out.

But in some other provinces, the plans that need foreign exchange loans might take a little longer to implement, he said.

Twenty-five percent of the ratified plans are meant to remove administrative obstacles to accelerate the implementation of the projects, he explained, adding that all the trips are organized and prioritized beforehand and follow a strict schedule.

“We have focused on the less privileged provinces, and the cabinet has met in twenty-one provinces so far. The remaining nine provinces will be visited by (early) winter and then the second round of trips will begin,” Saeedlu noted.

He went on to say that a committee has been established in his office that oversees implementation of the plans in each province and presents reports on them.

“As the person in charge of the provincial trips, I investigate all the discrepancies, and we are trying to make up for all the shortcomings of the trips,” he stated.

Asked about Ahmadinejad’s recent cabinet reshuffle, he replied that no minister was promised that he would serve for four years.

“No minister is guaranteed that he will remain in the cabinet up to the end of the administration’s term. What matters is that the people are certain that the ministers are required to serve them, and if they don’t, they will be replaced,” Saeedlu said.
